College Logos

College logos are characterized by simple designs which the alumni and students can consider as their college identity and through which they can recognize themselves as part of the institute. Most college logos include specific taglines of the college which should only be in Trajan Regular or simple bold fonts. At college level, sample logos are often altered as per requirements. For instance, the taglines are altered in a horizontal or vertical direction. Most designers do not recommend such alterations as it may distort the entire college logo concept and design. The fonts of the college logos should only be bold if a size small than 12pt. is being used, otherwise, bold fonts tend to appear out of design.

Mostly, the fonts used in logo taglines specifically are uppercase for its design purpose. The dominant colors in majority college logos are PMS 131 yellow and PMS 541. However, as college logos signify respect and an educational culture, they need to incorporate dark colors such as PMS lack or blue. College logos need to adaptable to different materials and they should also not lose their visual impact or design strength when transferred to different materials. For instance, college logos need to be imprinted on banners, flags, helmets and uniforms amongst other materials.
